Marine
The seashore is a habitat that is probably one of the most exciting places we can explore. It is a unique place, a fringe of both the sea and the land. It is affected daily by the timetable of the tides and the seasons which bring survival challenges for the creatures that are specially adapted to live there.
The aim of the Marine programme is to explore coastal and marine wildlife, its habitat and human impact on it. It focuses on marine birds, one of the main indicators of the quality of our coastal and marine habitats and their interdependence on other creatures. Participants will be challenged to think of ways to raise awareness in the local community of the problems facing our coastal and marine environment and how we can help.
The programme includes:
> Tutor input
> Games and fun activities
> Rock pooling, beach profiling and exploration
> Worksheets and booklets
> Arts and Crafts
