Peg's Cottage, Aughnacloy
The little farm hand's cottage, tucked away beside a little wood, on the Annagh House farm, is the idyllic setting for the latest project for AYW Eden. Set on acres of rolling fields, marsh land and undiscovered hidden habitat, Peg's Cottage is a little-touched nature reserve. A herd of Sika deer, foxes, rabbits, squirrels, tree creepers and clouds of finches of all hues and colours have made this little mount their home.
Now AYW Eden is the first project, the first step, in a journey that will lead this land in becoming a fully fledged care farm.
The vision of Simon and Jennifer Bullocks is that Annagh House, the main farm house, would become a home for people with learning disabilities who would benefit from the green care activities of farming and conservation.
