> Arts & Crafts
This year craft takes on a whole life of it's own. You'll still be able to make stuff to take home but you'll also have the opportunity to make something big to be used during one of the evening events.
> Big Bash & Carnival (Traditional)
This is your opportunity to shine. Are you a singer, dancer, actor, painter, do you play an instrument? Big Bash is our talent show where all the cabins take part. Come prepared with ideas.
Carnival is a street party that takes place between the boys and the girls building after big bash before a very late night campfire.
> Cabin Time (Traditional)
This is the part of the day just before bed when your cabin spends some time with your counsellors talking over the day. It's a really cool part of the day when you can talk about all the stuff you've done and experienced and even talk through any problems you may have had.
> Camp Chills (Traditional)
There is so much going on at Camp and it really doesn't stop, so for a couple of nights camp slows down and breathes. One night the whole camp is onsite but on the second camp chills night some campers will be away on expeditions.
> Camp Media
So where did Camp Radio go?! Nowhere, technically. But now instead of just radio each morning at breakfast, we'll be going live on this very website with the news from Camp every day. So, your parents, friends, wee sister, Camp Alumni and past campers can see just what they're missing!
> Campfire (Traditional)
There is only one Campfire each day. It marks the end of the daytime activities and the countdown towards bed. It's fun and is one of the few times when the whole Camp is together.
> Cookery
How are you with cooking al fresco - cooking outside that is? Suzanne is back and making food for the BBQ. The menu looks fabulous, I drool at the very suggestion. Come along and try out new recipes for cooking outdoors.
> Dance
Very popular for guys and girls, come and work out new routines and take part in the class with our dance tutors. Great craic, and very energetic.
> Lodge Cabin Council (Traditional)
One of the main reasons why Camp Alliance is so good is because we listen very carefully to what you say. At Lodge Cabin Council you have the opportunity to tell us what you thought about Camp, then we go back and start to prepare Camp for the following year!
> Pioneer
Uncle Ray and Uncle John beckon this year again. The Eden environmental programmes are a huge success - now you get the chance to discover, explore and conserve our natural heritage - loads more packed into the programme this year.
> RC Racing
Wanna work those thumbs? Are you the new Jason Plato or Matt Neal? There will be need for precision, control and speed, speed, speed as you attempt to get on to pole at the first ever Alliance RC grid line-up with 1:10 scale Lambos and '67 Mustangs.
> Archery
Archery was very popular last year, and it is back again! Green tights, a funny leather tunic and a feather in your cap are the required uniform for archery! Only joking.
> Canadian Canoeing
A canoe is a big open boat for a couple of people, unlike a kayak which is lower to the water and has a cockpit for one person to sit in. Paddling on the gentle swell of the open sea. Sounds delightful. Probably not going to be that gentle though. It will be lots of fun and very wet.
> Caving
A first for Camp Alliance, Ganaway now has it's own, man-made, realistic caving system. Be one of the first to climb down through caverns and passages in this fun, safe activity.
> Climbing Wall
If you've done climbing before, this will take you to a whole new level. Ganaway Activity Centre has it's own indoor climbing wall. Instructors will encourage you to grow and develop (to new heights, LOL!).
> High-level Ropes Course
So, you think you're not scared of heights? Ever wondered what it's like to swing through the jungle like Tarzan? High-level ropes course will allow you to conquer your fear and try something new.
> Kayaking
Kayaking is an exciting, fun activity where you get to captian your own boat. It's fast and furious, and unlike last years lake experience, this activity takes place on the sea.
> Low-level Ropes Course
Low-level ropes course is an assault course suspended a few feet above the ground and is designed to encourage people to work together, build strength and have fun.
> Raft Building
Build your own raft, test it, modify it and sail it across the sea to Wales. Spend time with your team creating a sea-worthy vessel and learning skills to improve it. If you're wanting fun in the water - then this is it.
> Sea-level Traverse & Pier Jumping
Go exploring the coast around the Ards peninsula, scrambling over the rocks, in and out of the caves, off the piers and into big plunge pools. Wild, wet and cold - can't beat it.
> Zipline
Zipline, also known as "the flying fox", "the foefie slide", "zipwire", "aerial runway", "aerial ropeslide" or "deathslide"(!!!), makes it's first appearance at Camp Alliance 2011. Hurtle from the tower at phenomenal speeds and scream yourself silly as the ground rushes to meet you.
